Exotic beaches

Tenerife is well know for its fabulous climate, its beautiful landscapes, and its diverse towns and cities, but one of the main reasons that many visitors flock here each year is for the fabulous exotic beaches that can be found across the island. As the largest of the Canary Islands, which are located in the Atlantic Ocean, Tenerife has a number of fabulous exotic beaches, many of which boast volcanic dark sands, which give them a unique appearance.

Kick back and relax on one of Tenerife’s wonderful beaches

Located in Puerto de la Cruz, Jardin Beach boasts a large, beautiful landscaped area, and is shielded from the main traffic by a semi-submerged breakwater. When you relax on the dark sands of Jardin Beach you can enjoy soaking up the beautiful weather as well as admiring incredible, breathtaking views. Another great beach in the Puerto de la Cruz area is Martiánez Beach, which lies between the cliffs and the Costa de Martiánez complex.

Just seven kilometres from the capital city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife you will find the beautiful Teresitas Beach, which is protected by breakwater, and unlike many other beaches on the island, boasts some beautiful, imported golden sands. You can enjoy recreational facilities such as boating and fishing within easy reach, as well as easy access to some excellent seafood restaurants.

You will also find that the dark sandy Roque Beach is well suited to those wishing to practice their surfing. However, frequent currents mean that you need to be wary when planning to practice on this beach. However, this is a great beach to relax and admire the views whilst enjoying a bite to eat at one of the beachside fish restaurants or one of the open air cafes.

For those looking to enjoy the freedom of one of the nudist beaches in Tenerife, there are plenty to choose from. Amongst the main nudist beaches you will find: Playa de Las Gaviotas in Santa Cruz; Playa de Diego Hernandez in Adeje; Playa de Los Patos in La Orotova; and Playa de la Tejita in El Medano.
